• Why wouldn't I just hire a full-time CTO?

  Good question! The annual cost of a full-time CTO in London in 2024 typically ranges from £130,000 to £160,000, with senior roles potentially reaching £200,000 or more, depending on experience . This base salary is often supplemented with bonuses, equity (such as shares or stock options), and additional benefits like healthcare, pensions, or car allowances, which can significantly increase the overall compensation package. However, you may not always have enough work to keep a full-time CTO fully occupied, meaning you’d be paying for time you’re unable to utilise.

  In contrast, a fractional CTO allows you to access high-level strategic IT leadership and guidance on a part-time or contract basis, ensuring you only pay for the expertise you need when you need it. This way, you can gain expert insights and support in strategic IT planning, technology evaluation, and process optimisation without the financial burden of a full-time hire.

• Can a fractional CTO replace my existing IT team?

  No, a fractional CTO complements your existing IT team by providing strategic leadership, guidance, and expertise. They work collaboratively with your team to enhance capabilities, solve complex problems, and drive technological advancement.

• Is there a limit to how many requests I can have?

  Once subscribed, you’re able to add as many requests to your queue as you’d like, and they will be delivered one by one with an average 48-hour turnaround. 

• How quickly will you complete my tasks?

  Most tasks are completed within 48 hours on average, though more extensive tasks may require additional time.

• Who will be working on my tasks?

  You might find it surprising, it’s just me—Dean Jackson. You will work directly with me for all tasks and projects.

• How does the pause feature work?

  We understand that you might not have enough tasks to fill an entire month. You may only have one or two tasks at the moment. That’s why we offer a pause feature for your subscription.

  Billing is based on a 31-day cycle. If you use the service for 21 days and then pause, your billing stops. You’ll have 10 days remaining to use whenever you need them in the future.

• How do I request tasks?

  Our service provides multiple ways to request tasks within the client portal via Notion. You can submit tasks directly, share documents or even send a brief Loom video if you prefer not to write everything out.

• What if I only have a single request?

  That’s perfectly fine. You can pause your subscription once the task is completed and resume when you have additional needs. This way, you won’t waste the remainder of your subscription.

• Are there any refunds if I am not satisfied with the service?

  Due to the high-quality nature of the work, refunds will not be issued.
